Virtual Lactation Consultation
Frequent reasons for Virtual Lactation consults are due to pain, making enough milk, concerns over latch, tongue tie, weight gain, supplemental feeding systems, pumping and/or flange fit, returning to work, bottle feeding/refusal, reflux, breast refusal, weaning off a nipple shield, weaning, plugged ducts, mastitis or if they are doing this all right?!
What to expect:

After scheduling, I'll walk you through how to complete the required forms (health questionnaires for you/baby and a consent form) in Charm Health. We meet via HIPAA compliant Google Meets. It's easy! You must provide your Medical Provider (MD, NP, Midwife, PA) in order to complete the required forms.

Virtual Consults are available only to those in the USA. Virtual Consults may be HSA/FSA eligible, call your insurance company. I am Out of Network with all insurance companies, I provide a Super Bill for you to submit for possible reimbursement from your insurance company. Prenatal Virtual Lactation Consult
What you need to know to have the best start breastfeeding (or pumping for) your little one!
What to expect:
1 hour one on one introduction to breastfeeding, reviewing your health history, goals, answering all your questions and preparing you for the best start! A report is sent to your Provider and includes 1 week of email or phone support.

Melanie is an incredible IBCLC and I am so lucky to have had her help when I encountered lactation difficulties with my second child. Twins +$50
Travel Fee: I drive up to 1 hour from Gettysburg.
IF you live past 1 hour, each 1/2 hour + $25.

Follow Up In-Home Consultation (unavailable)
Follow up consults are for current clients only, who have already had an initial consult and need additional support. Includes two weeks of follow up via email/phone.
In-Home Consult Follow Up:
1 hour @ $175
Twins +$50
In-Home Travel Fee: I drive up to 1 hour from Gettysburg.
IF you live past 1 hour, each 1/2 hour + $25.
Payment, Insurance & Policies
At time of service, you pay in full via credit/debit card or cash.
I provide a Super Bill with healthcare claim codes and a statement you have paid. You submit the Super Bill to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
I am currently not in-network with any insurance companies. You "should" be able to use your HSA/FSA funds but it would be a good idea to call your insurance company ahead.
What does the Affordable Care Act Say?
In 2010, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) was signed into law. Part of the ACA includes health insurance requiring breastfeeding support and supplies. Yes, outpatient lactation consultant visits and breast pumps. Due to each insurance plan, network and type being different, it’s best to call your insurance company directly. The ACA has different regulations for Medicaid or WIC.
